Parent Pledge

At Fishtoft Academy, we are committed to ensuring that every child receives the support they need to succeed in English and Maths. We understand that some children may fall behind for various reasons, and we are dedicated to providing them with the necessary resources and interventions to enable them to make accelerated progress towards their targets.

Support and Provision for our pupils includes:

• Small group interventions: Children who are struggling with English and Maths will be supported in small groups with a qualified teacher or teaching assistant. These sessions will focus on key areas of difficulty and will be tailored to the individual needs of each child.
• One-to-one support: Children who require extra support will have the opportunity to work with a teacher or teaching assistant on a one-to-one basis. These sessions will focus on specific areas of difficulty and will be tailored to the individual needs of each child.
• Additional resources and materials: Children who require additional support to access identified English and Maths concepts will be supported with additional resources and materials such as worksheets, games, manipulatives, and interactive activities to help them improve their skills.
• Parental involvement: We will work closely with parents and carers to ensure that they are aware of their child's progress and are provided with the information and support they need to help their child at home.
• Regular progress monitoring: We will closely monitor the progress of children who are receiving support and will adjust our interventions as needed to ensure that they are making progress.

Interventions include: NELI (Nuffield Early Language Intervention), speech and language, fine motor, reading, handwriting, specific phonics interventions.

Careful consideration is given to timings of interventions to ensure the children do not miss out on valuable in class lessons. Interventions are incorporated into appropriate times throughout the school day such as target time, focus groups, during assemblies and lunch clubs.
