Starfish Trip to Tattershall Castle

On Tuesday 14th November Starfish visited Tattershall Castle. This links into our current topic of ‘Towers, Tunnels and Turrets.’

We had a fantastic day learning all about the castle itself as well as taking part in fun and interesting activities. In the morning session we learnt all about the toys and games that would have been played with by people who lived in the castle. We then got to have ago at playing them.

In the afternoon session we all made our own crowns and became ‘kings’ and ‘queens’!

Afterwards we got to explore the rest of the castle and climbed the 149 steps all the way to the top. We could see for miles.

It was such a good day and the children were very excited and interested in the castle!

Sharks Ancient Egyptian Day

We dressed up as Ancient Egyptians for a day at Ancient Egyptian School

Ancient Egyptian Cookery

We worked in groups to make a range of Ancient Egyptian recipes. We had to read the recipes, collect the ingredients and equipment and then follow the instructions to make the food. We made: pickled tomatoes, hummus, cucumber dip, spiced oranges and date balls- it was an Ancient Egyptian feast!

We ate the food at our Egyptian feast- it was yum. We played Ancient Egyptian board games and the mummy game.
