Sporting Fun!!

The KS1 children enjoyed taking part in a multi-sports activity day which was organised by the federation sports team. Throughout the day, the children were kept extremely busy by taking part in a wide range of fun activities which they really enjoyed.

Swimming Gala 2017

Fishtoft Swimmers

A team of children from Fishtoft Academy took part in the swimming gala on 25th February. Our super swimmers were an absolute credit to the school and they seemed to thoroughly enjoy showing just how talented they are!

Dolphin Class Concert

The Dolphin Class have been very lucky to have a specialist music teacher in school to teach them how to play a number of different instruments. They have all learnt to play each of the instruments including the djembe drums. After only a few weeks of practicing, the children performed a short concert for parents, carers and their peers to watch. It was a super performance, a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all!

Tractor Visit

The Starfish children were delighted to explore and find out facts about a tractor that was brought to school for a visit on 1st March. The visit was organised through Willoughby Foods and the children were able to learn about farming and how tractors are used on farms.

The children really enjoyed the visit – thank you Willoughby Foods.

World Book Day

A fantastic World Book Day was had at Fishtoft Academy. Staff and children dressed up as their favourite character from a book and the classes took part in a range of book related activities throughout the day. There were also competitions which meant that the children had to hunt around the school to find the missing Wally’s as well as a quiz which tested the children’s knowledge of well-known books.

Well done all of our lucky winners who won a prize for their dressing up or competition efforts, although everyone made a huge effort and we had a wide range of book characters around school for the day!

A big thank you also needs to go to the parents who were able to come into school to read with their child during the afternoon; the library was bursting at the seams and it was great to see the love of books being shared by so many families.
