Today we celebrated Earth Day with assemblies and pledges. The theme was plastic pollution with Shark class making a promise about how they plan to reduce their plastic use. This matches the Voyage Green Pledge to reduce plastic use in school.
Shark class had a dramatic start to our new theme Eco Warriors. Small groups made a perfect habitat for their chick (not real chick luckily!). We then suffered a dramatic oil spill and worked hard to remove the oil using home made booms, absorbers and dispersers. Sadly our chicks became coated in oil and our perfect place was ruined.
Oh no! Shark class have been busy finding out about a catastrophe- an oil tanker has crashed and we need to work out what to do about the gallons of crude oil inside. Luckily we were able to send our roving reporters to scene to report on events for the evening news flash.
