This morning in our whole school assembly the children were learning all about perseverance. Mrs Harrison shared the story about Jasmin Paris completing the Barkley Marathons this year and how due to her perseverance she managed to complete the marathons with less than 100 seconds left before the 60 hour cut off time. We were all extremely impressed by this huge achievement!
Today we celebrated Earth Day with assemblies and pledges. The theme was plastic pollution with Shark class making a promise about how they plan to reduce their plastic use. This matches the Voyage Green Pledge to reduce plastic use in school.
Shark class had a dramatic start to our new theme Eco Warriors. Small groups made a perfect habitat for their chick (not real chick luckily!). We then suffered a dramatic oil spill and worked hard to remove the oil using home made booms, absorbers and dispersers. Sadly our chicks became coated in oil and our perfect place was ruined.
